About the Farm
Background
Four Goats Farm began its journey in Delta, ON, sharing land with Aman Farms, a certified organic farm run by Richard and Karen Cook. In December 2020, the farm was established and later moved to Iroquois, ON, in the spring of 2022, partnering with Upper Canada Creamery. The farm is known for its commitment to transforming marginal land into fertile, productive land through rotational grazing and providing nutrient-dense food.
Practices
The farm employs rotational animal grazing to improve soil fertility and sequester carbon. Chickens are raised without antibiotics, drugs, hormones, or GMOs, and are 100% organic fed and free-range. Pigs are raised on 80 acres of forest, consuming a varied diet that includes organic grain, organic whey, hay, pasture, cover crops, and spent brewers grains. Goats browse on woody brush and brambles, mimicking their natural diet, and are 100% grass-fed. These practices ensure the animals contribute to the land's fertility and ecological health.
The Rest
Four Goats Farm sells whole or half chickens, marinated or smoked, whole or half hogs, and monthly pork boxes. They also offer artisanal charcuterie through FarmhouseCharcuterie.com. The farm's products are available in Ottawa, Brockville, Kemptville, and Metcalfe.
