Fossum Family Farm Alpacas and The Alpaca Farm Store

Located about 2 miles northwest of historic Northfield, Minnesota, the farm's interest in alpacas began in 2003, transitioning from a cattle farm to include alpacas. From 2012 to 2017, they also raised Yaks but returned to focusing on cattle, particularly Scottish Highlands. The farm has expanded over the years to include The Alpaca Farm Store, which sells everything from raw fiber to completed alpaca products.

The farm emphasizes using superior genetics to produce strong, healthy herds, striving to improve each generation. They focus on smaller lines of Scottish Highland and Belted Galloway cattle to appeal to those with smaller acreage or those looking for pets. The farm also offers mentoring, educational workshops, and farm tours.

In addition to alpacas and cattle, the farm is home to miniature donkeys, mini horses, and goats, providing a diverse and engaging experience for visitors.
