About the Farm

Background

Located just outside of Portersville in Western Pennsylvania, Forest & Flowers Retreat sits on 50 acres of traditional, ancestral territory of the Osage and Monongahela Culture. The founder, Jenni Hulburt, has deep roots in Pennsylvania through her maternal grandparents. Since 2004, Jenni has studied human and exercise physiology, created online fitness programs, and taught aromatherapy workshops. Her passion for nature and herbalism led her to create this retreat where guests can reconnect with the natural world.

Practices

The farm is dedicated to cultivating a woodland botanical environment that supports both pollinators and people. Their regenerative soil tending practices aim to add diversity to the ecosystem. The Retreat House is designed with a minimalist, down-to-earth feel, featuring organic furnishings and natural decor. The farm emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and honoring the ancestral people who stewarded the land before them.

The Rest

Forest & Flowers Retreat offers a variety of experiences including private workshops, sessions with herbs, flowers, aromatherapy, and reiki. The retreat is equipped with sound bowls, essential oils, meditation cushions, and yoga mats for self-guided retreats. Guests can enjoy an outdoor claw foot tub and open-air shower seasonally. The retreat is also a venue for weddings and events, with spaces like the Garden Room and the Flower Barn available for rental. Located within 5 miles of McConnell’s Mill and Moraine State Parks, guests have access to hiking, biking, swimming, and paddling. The retreat is not open to the public and welcomes guests by appointment or reservation only.
