About the Farm
Background
John and Annie Bowler, along with their children, purchased the farm in 2004, renovating the farmhouse, adding guest cottages, and converting the barn into a venue for weddings and special events. Their friends, Rich and Sheri Fischer and Patti Foust, developed the nursery and cafe into a destination. In 2012, Kevin and Ann Stevenson established a tasting room for their winery, Casque Wines, with a wine bar crafted from a fallen walnut tree found on the property.
Practices
The farm generates much of its electricity from solar panels, practices environmentally friendly farming methods, and recycles and composts daily. Their kitchens use fruits, vegetables, and eggs produced on the farm or by nearby farms. The nursery was selected as a retailer for UC Davis Arboretum All-Stars, featuring drought-tolerant plants.
The Rest
The farm hosts yoga, gardening classes, including water-wise gardening, and art classes. They offer educational farm and nursery tours for small groups. Guests can enjoy wine from Casque Wines and a café lunch by the pond, stroll through orchards and gardens, and observe chickens and wildlife. The farm also serves as a wedding venue, historic inn, and cozy café.
