About the Farm
Background
Located in the Ozarks of Missouri, this small family farm has been dedicated to raising a variety of livestock and producing high-quality products. Known for their pasture-raised beef, lamb, and heritage Red Wattle Pork, they have also ventured into raising Finnish Landrace Sheep, offering registered stock and fleeces starting in 2014. The farm has been a local source for USDA inspected cuts of beef, lamb, and pork, with poultry available seasonally. In the fall of 2013, they expanded their offerings to include raw milk and sorghum syrup, the latter produced with a horse-powered mill.
Practices
The farm employs pasture-raising methods for their livestock, ensuring that beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and duck are raised in a natural environment. This approach not only promotes animal welfare but also enhances the quality of the meat. The use of a horse-powered mill for producing sorghum syrup highlights their commitment to traditional, hands-on farming techniques.
The Rest
Visitors to the farm can purchase USDA inspected cuts of beef, lamb, and pork directly from the farm, with poultry available when in season. The farm also offers demonstrations of sorghum syrup making, providing a unique educational experience about this traditional process.
