About the Farm
Background
Established in 1947, the farm has been a cornerstone of hazelnut production in the Puyallup River valley. Under new ownership since 2009, the farm underwent significant changes, including the removal of diseased trees and replanting efforts, leading to the first new crop harvest in 2016.
Practices
The farm focuses on cultivating hazelnuts, with an annual harvest completed in October. The replanting of hazelnut trees was a crucial step in revitalizing the farm's production capabilities.
The Rest
Hazelnuts are sold directly from the farm and at the Proctor Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Although no longer offering CSA shares or pork, the farm recommends other local sources for these products. Visitors are welcome year-round on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM to experience the scenic views of Mt. Rainier, salmon creeks, and eagles. Future plans include offering heritage chicks, eggs, and chicken.
