About the Farm

Background

Jake Jarecki, a Hopkins High School graduate, founded Feed-Me Farms in 2020 after a year-long stint on a farm in Wisconsin inspired his interest in organic agriculture. The farm is named in tribute to Andrew Jaffee, a beloved friend who passed away in 2018. Feed-Me Farms operates in Hopkins, MN, and has become known for its community-focused approach, donating a portion of its produce to local food shelters.

Practices

Feed-Me Farms eliminates chemical fertilizers and pesticides by converting traditional grass lawns into organic food-producing lots. The farm grows vegetables without pesticides, ensuring they are cultivated with loving care. This practice not only provides fresh produce to the community but also promotes the sustainable use of suburban spaces.

The Rest

Feed-Me Farms donates hundreds of pounds of produce to the ICA foodshelf each season, in partnership with Bet Shalom Congregation and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They offer a flexible farm share program and opportunities for volunteers to learn about organic farming. The farm operates on borrowed lots from various community institutions, including synagogues, churches, and neighbors' yards throughout the West Metro.
