About the Farm

Background

Located 50 miles south of Kansas City in Adrian, MO, Farrar Family Farm began with a mission to provide nutrient-dense, clean meat. The farm is known for its commitment to regenerative farming methods that heal the land and produce high-quality meat. Over the years, they have become a trusted source for local, responsibly raised meat products, making monthly deliveries to various locations around Kansas City and participating in the Lee’s Summit Farmers Market during the summer.

Practices

Farrar Family Farm employs rotational grazing for their grass-fed, grass-finished beef, moving cattle daily to new pastures for fresh forage. Their meat chickens and turkeys are pasture-raised in mobile coops, moved every morning to clean areas where they can forage for grasses and bugs alongside their non-GMO feed. The forest-raised pigs live in the woods, rooting around and turning up the ground to uncover food, also supplemented with non-GMO feed. Egg layers roam the pastures, contributing to soil health and producing nutrient-rich eggs. These practices not only ensure the well-being of the animals but also enhance the health of the land.

The Rest

Farrar Family Farm offers a variety of purchasing options, including individual pieces, bulk/wholesale orders, and 6-month CSA programs. They make monthly deliveries to Raymore, Lee’s Summit, South KC, and KCMO, and participate in the Lee’s Summit Farmers Market during the summer. Customers can also order online for home delivery, community pickup, or on-farm pickups by appointment. The farm emphasizes transparency and invites customers to learn more about their farming methods through their website and social media.
