About the Farm
Background
For many years, this family-owned farm has been producing over 200 varieties of vegetables on more than 400 acres of tillable farmland spread across Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, Cromwell, and Berlin. Known for its large wholesale farming operation, the farm also features a bustling farm market that operates from May 1st to Christmas, providing a wide array of vegetable plants, flowers, fresh fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods. The farm has become a community staple, hosting a 500-member CSA summer program and a 200-member fall share, as well as a popular fall festival and corn maze.
Practices
The farm employs an intensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program to manage pests while minimizing environmental impact. Although not certified organic, the farm avoids growing GMO varieties and includes heirloom and specialty vegetable varieties in their offerings. Greenhouse operations extend the growing season, producing tomatoes, vegetable plants, and a variety of annuals.
The Rest
The farm's retail stand is a hub of activity, open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM for eight months of the year. It offers seasonal décor, flowers, local baked goods, produce, and more. The kitchen serves breakfast and lunch, featuring fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads. Additionally, the farm stand sells meats, eggs, breads, cheeses, baked goods, and canned goods. Seasonal events like the fall festival and corn maze provide family-friendly activities, including a pumpkin patch and various autumn-themed attractions.
