Eloisa Organic Farm

Virginia Herrera and Zenon Ramirez, originally from the village of Asuncion Atoyaquillo, Oaxaca, have lived in the US for 25 years, working for Spring Hill Organic Farm. In 2019, they realized a long-term dream by starting their own farm, named Eloisa Organic Farm in honor of Virginia’s mother. They have become integral members of the local food community, providing fresh produce to friends and neighbors.

The farm employs organic farming methods, ensuring that all vegetable crops are certified organic. They focus on growing a diverse array of seasonal vegetables, utilizing practices that promote soil health and ecological balance. The use of biodegradable pots for vegetable and herb starts highlights their commitment to reducing plastic waste.

Eloisa Organic Farm offers CSA boxes with multiple pick-up options and sells produce at the Portland and Corvallis Farmers’ Markets, as well as through select grocery stores and directly to restaurants. They also provide certified organic vegetable and herb starts for home gardeners. The farm's story has been featured in various articles, emphasizing their journey from farmworkers to farm owners.
