About the Farm
Background
Located on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island, this ten-acre farm has become a cornerstone of the South Huntington community. Known for its commitment to enriching the health and wellness of the community, the farm offers a CSA program that provides a generous variety of freshly picked vegetables each week during the summer season. The farm also supports innovative, farm-based vocational programming for differently-abled individuals.
Practices
The farm employs environmentally responsible practices, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides in favor of methods that ensure the health and vitality of the soil and plants. Vegetables are hand-picked and hand-tended, cultivated and harvested for peak nutrition and flavor. The farm's rich soil and responsible growing practices are bolstered by a diverse and vibrant ecosystem. Produce is grown, washed, and packed on-site, ensuring it goes directly from the farm to the family's table without any middlemen or extra handling.
The Rest
The farm offers a range of classes tailored to learners of all abilities and is available for private class bookings. A farmstand provides fresh produce directly to the community, and skilled gardeners and horticulturists are invited to volunteer. The farm's activities are supported by community donations, which are crucial for sustaining and expanding its important work.
