About the Farm
Background
Located in Central California’s picturesque Carmel Valley, the farm stand is situated near the original 2.5-acre garden and roadside stand where Earthbound Farm began. The Organic Kitchen, which opened in 2003, was one of the first three certified organic kitchens in the United States, emphasizing the mission to share the benefits of organic food widely.
Practices
The farm adheres to strict USDA National Organic Program standards, using certified organic ingredients for all their food preparations, with exceptions only for items not available organically, such as baking soda and salt. The emphasis is on the long-term value of organic food, which is considered healthier and more environmentally friendly.
The Rest
The Farm Stand operates year-round, offering a variety of handmade foods, including an all-organic salad bar, fresh soups, prepared meals, bakery treats, and organic beverages like coffees, teas, smoothies, yogurt, and ice cream. Visitors can also find gourmet groceries and unique gifts.
