About the Farm

Background

Located in Hungry Hollow at the mouth of the Capay Valley in Yolo County, this fourth-generation farm has been nurtured by Jim and Deborah, who have dedicated themselves to building an ecologically minded business. From its inception, the farm has aimed to provide a quality life for the farmer while maintaining economic viability and respecting nature's diversity.

Practices

The farm employs organic farming methods, emphasizing the health and wellbeing of both consumers and employees. Crops are picked in the cool morning hours and refrigerated immediately to ensure they reach the table in a vine-ripe condition, offering superb flavor. Every decision in the growing process is made with great consideration for ecological impact and sustainability.

The Rest

The unique microclimate and soils of the area allow the farm to grow a variety of produce including Asparagus, Melons, Watermelons, Cherry & Heirloom Tomatoes, Winter Squash, Pumpkins, Processing Butternut, Mixed Melons, Watermelon, Snap Peas, Green Beans, Alfalfa, and Barley. The farm operates as a social network for the surrounding community, striving to educate and engage with its members.
