About the Farm
Background
Drumlin Farm operates on a Mass Audubon wildlife conservation site, providing fresh produce, eggs, maple syrup, meat, yarn, and sheepskins through its year-round farm stand. The farm also sells produce at the Union Square Farmer's Market and partners with over 25 restaurants in the surrounding areas.
Practices
The farm emphasizes maintaining high soil fertility and quality vegetable production. Livestock, including sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, and laying hens, are raised with ample space, fresh air, and without growth hormones or routine antibiotics. The farm employs 'Beyond Organic' growing practices and preserves vegetables in a traditional root cellar for the winter CSA.
The Rest
Drumlin Farm's CSA program provides seasonal vegetables to families, with options for full shares, half shares, and Pick-Your-Own produce. The farm also offers SNAP CSA shares and work shares. The farm stand is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, and the Union Square Farmer's Market operates from May until November. More details and registration are available on their website.
