Down To Earth Harvest

It started with a van and a garden. In 2010, Bob and Phil began on a ½ acre in East Earl, PA. By 2011, they moved to a 10-acre lease in Kennett Square, PA. In 2013, Phil and Shanna started Rambling Roots Farm, and Bob began attending local farmer’s markets. Between 2014 and 2015, Bob and Amy got married, started a family, and purchased a farm. In 2016, the farm moved to West Bradford Township, with Zac and Sam helping to build it out. By 2018, the farm adopted full 'no-till' farming practices, and Zac and Sam restarted Full Circle CSA. In 2019, Flexible Farm Shares were introduced, and Marty joined the team. Chris joined as a farmer in 2020. In 2022, a movable high tunnel was added to extend offerings, and Bob earned the “Farmer on the Rise” designation from Horizon Farm Credit. Another high tunnel was added in 2023, and Erin joined as Member Coordinator and Social Media Manager in 2024.

The farm employs organic methods for growing vegetables and herbs. They have adopted full 'no-till' farming practices since 2018, which helps maintain soil health and reduce erosion. The farm is committed to transparency, providing source identification and growing practices for all produce offered. Techniques to extend growing seasons, such as movable high tunnels, are also implemented to provide a diverse range of produce throughout the year.

The farm offers customizable Farm Shares subscriptions for all seasons, serving Kennett Square, Downingtown, and Malvern. They are dedicated to bettering the health of their community and local environment by making it easy and delicious to support local farmers. The team includes Bob Todd, Amy Todd, Erin Doran, and Marty Renner, each bringing unique skills and passions to the farm. The farm also partners with local farms like Mariner Farms, Phillip Mushrooms, Rosedale Farms, and the Oxford Produce Auction network to ensure a wide variety of high-quality produce.
