About the Farm

Background

Located near the South Fork of the Clearwater River in northern Idaho, Double Aught Angus Ranch is known for its dedication to raising quality beef by providing cattle with a quality life.

Practices

The farm employs environmentally sound practices, managing pastures for clean, healthy grasses, forbs, shrubs, and trees. The cattle graze on a variety of forage species, have access to clean water, and are provided with free-choice minerals. The ranch is also managed for a broad range of wildlife and plant species to ensure an ecologically diverse environment. The cattle are always grass-fed, never grained, and no added hormones or antibiotics are used. Humane treatment is a priority, with cattle handled gently and calves weaned later to avoid distress. Fresh pasture is provided when possible, and quality locally-grown grass hay is available during winter. Steers are humanely ranch-killed and packaged by a local family-run processor.

The Rest

Small-framed cattle yield smaller cuts, making them more affordable and environmentally friendly. Steers yield about 260 pounds of packaged meat and are available as whole, half, or mixed quarters.
