About the Farm
Background
In 1989, the family returned to their 100-acre farm with a commitment to being chemical and pesticide-free. They planted native grasses and wildflowers to benefit local wildlife. The farm is a family operation, with Doug tending the garden and his wife and daughter, Mallie, managing the hatching, raising, and processing of poultry.
Practices
The farm adheres to a philosophy of chemical and pesticide-free farming. They prioritize planting native grasses and wildflowers to support wildlife. All poultry are fed locally grown feed and are given fresh pasture daily.
The Rest
Visitors can find the farm by taking Exit 62 off I-75 and following a series of turns. The farm participates in the Renfro Valley Harvest Festival on the first weekend in October. Currently, they offer Cornish Cross Chicken at $2.50 per pound.
