About the Farm
Background
For 40 years, Tom Denison has been growing produce and selling directly to Oregon consumers. The 40-acre farm, located just north of Corvallis and overlooking the Jackson-Frazier Wetland, has become known for its wide selection of organic fruits and vegetables. The farm markets its produce through several outlets, including direct sales to a local cooperative grocery store, participation in six farmers' markets each week during the summer, a 25-week Harvest Box (CSA) membership program, and sales through a local produce wholesale business.
Practices
All organic methods are used on the farm's products. This commitment to organic farming ensures that the produce is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, promoting soil health and biodiversity.
The Rest
The farm employs 22 full-time workers during the busy midsummer season to assist with all aspects of growing, harvesting, and marketing produce. The farm values building relationships with customers, often trading recipes and getting to know families through farmers' markets and Harvest Box memberships. Products include yellow potatoes, beets, kale, raspberries, strawberries, onions, lettuce, zucchini, blackberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, Italian parsley, sweet peppers, and heirloom tomatoes.
