Dear Run Longhorns

Owned by Douglas and Cynthia Dear, the farm is dedicated to raising registered Texas longhorn cattle, a breed they consider an extension of their family. Their journey into longhorn breeding has been shaped by numerous conversations with experts across the country, and they are known for their commitment to the quality and eye appeal of their herd.

The Dears manage their longhorn herd using sustainable and humane practices, ensuring the cattle are free-range and grass-fed without the use of antibiotics, growth hormones, or steroids. They emphasize being good stewards of the land and the health benefits of their beef, which is lower in saturated fats and cholesterol compared to chicken.

Visitors are welcome by appointment only, as the ranch does not have a storefront. The Dears express deep gratitude to the many longhorn breeders and experts who have supported them along their journey. Hand-feeding a 1,000-pound animal with six-foot-long horns is highlighted as a magical experience.
