About the Farm
Background
Located in the rolling hills of southeastern Vermont, Dayspring Farm has carved out a niche in raising Katahdin and Dorper sheep. Known for their mild-tasting lamb, the farm has become a trusted source for both meat and seed stock in the region.
Practices
The farm places a strong emphasis on soil health, utilizing re-mineralized soils to cultivate nutrient-rich pastures. This focus on the land extends to their livestock, ensuring that the food sources for their sheep are as healthy as possible. The underlying philosophy is that healthy soils and crops lead to healthy animals and, ultimately, healthy people.
The Rest
Lamb meat is sold by the whole or side as freezer meat, and products are shipped to New England states and eastern New York. All meats are processed under USDA inspection, labeled with the farm's own branding, vacuum sealed, and frozen.
