About the Farm
Background
Founded by a couple raised on dairy farms, this family farm has been the sole business of the family for generations. In 1982, they began transitioning away from harsh farm chemicals, and by 1992, they achieved certified organic status. The farm has grown to include four generations working together, with the support of their loyal customers.
Practices
The farm employs crop rotation and other traditional methods, avoiding hormones and GMOs. They prioritize soil health by using less harsh products and treating the soil as a living entity. Livestock is raised on grass, not in total confinement, and they strive to exceed organic standards. Heritage breeds are used, and they aim for self-sustainability by raising all their feed.
The Rest
Products are sold at the farm and six farmers markets, including cuts of chicken, turkey, pork, beef, and lamb, as well as eggs and heirloom grain products like fresh ground spelt and wheat flour, wheat and spelt berries, and homemade spelt cereals. The farm emphasizes high-quality, nutrient-dense food and excellent service, encouraging customers to learn about their food sources.
