About the Farm
Background
Owned and operated by Gary and Mary Licklider, the farm began in 2002 in rural Boone County, Missouri. The name 'Curly Eye' originated from Gary's woodworking business, which featured decorative wood boxes made from curly maple and bird’s eye maple. The farm's name was a natural fit when the alpacas, with their big eyes and long lashes, arrived.
Practices
The farm emphasizes personal service and support for new alpaca owners. They built their own barn and installed fencing in the challenging Boone County clay, a task Mary humorously advises new owners to outsource to a contractor.
The Rest
Visitors are welcome but should call or email to arrange a convenient time. The farm offers a range of quality alpaca products and a calm, inviting atmosphere for guests.
