Crown Point Ecology Center

The property, initially purchased by Jacob and Abigail Swigart in 1854, has a rich history of changing hands and evolving purposes. By 1949, Hugh and Mary Stoller acquired the land, restoring the farmhouse and maintaining a herd of prize-winning cattle. The Sisters of St. Dominic purchased the property in 1967, transforming it into a preschool and later an education and ecology center. In 1998, the farm launched its CSA program, which now serves around 110 families annually.

The farm adheres to rigorous USDA organic certification standards, ensuring no synthetic chemicals are used on the fields. Emphasizing sustainable and regenerative agriculture, the farm donates one-third of its organic harvest to local food banks, supporting families in need with fresh produce. The CSA program allows shareholders to select from freshly harvested produce in a 'market style' setup, fostering a direct connection between the farm and the community.

The CSA program offers a variety of share types, including Full and Half Shares with weekly and bi-weekly pick-up options. Shareholders receive an E-Newsletter with farm updates, recipes, and volunteer opportunities. The farm also hosts a pick-your-own patch for berries and contributes significantly to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, having donated over 140,000 lbs of organic produce since its inception.
