About the Farm
Background
Ben and Kristen Beichler, a husband-and-wife team, began their journey in farming with a small rented homestead, a flock of chickens, and four cows. After gaining experience on several grass-based dairies, they moved back to the Shenandoah Valley and purchased their farm in May 2017. Since then, they have been dedicated to providing wholesome, nutritious raw milk while raising their four sons on the farm.
Practices
The farm's philosophy centers on outdoor grazing, where Jersey cows graze fresh pastures daily during the growing season and consume dry and fermented hay in colder months. The cows are well-cared for, ensuring they are content and healthy to produce creamy, nutritious milk. Each batch of milk undergoes lab testing for purity and quality, and the farm is listed with the Raw Milk Institute for safety, accountability, and raw milk education.
The Rest
The farm offers herd shares, allowing members to receive fresh raw milk from their own cows, with weekly deliveries to various locations in Virginia. Visitors can enjoy farm days filled with activities like petting baby calves, hay rides, and homemade treats. The farm emphasizes community connection and responsible farming practices.
