About the Farm

Background

Country Pleasures Farms has established itself as a producer of heirloom tomatoes and a variety of other fruits and vegetables, all grown without the use of chemicals. Over the years, they have expanded their offerings to include pasture-raised eggs, naturally pasture-raised chickens, and handcrafted soaps.

Practices

The farm builds its soil using grass-fed aged manure, kelp, peat, beneficial microbes, compost tea, and cover crops. Chemical pesticides and herbicides are strictly avoided. Poultry are given an organic, grain-based, non-GMO feed and are never treated with antibiotics or drugs. The use of Bokashi enhances the microbiological quality of water and enriches it with beneficial substances, improving nutrient assimilation and overall bird health. This practice also reduces undesirable odors, balances intestinal micro-flora, and decreases methane production, leading to better eating habits and reduced incidence of diarrhea.

The Rest

The farm also produces organically made jams and preserves. For more information, visit www.countrygirlsoaps.com.
