About the Farm
Background
Established in 1993, Country Cousins Farm has grown from a small dairy operation to a diversified farm that includes dairy cows, beef animals, and chickens. Known for its friendly, family-oriented atmosphere, the farm has become a staple in the northern New York community, offering a variety of farm-fresh products through its self-serve farm store.
Practices
The farm milks approximately 60 Holstein cows twice a day, filtering and refrigerating the milk in a bulk tank to ensure freshness. The cows are primarily pasture-fed and grain-finished, ensuring high-quality beef. Eggs are gathered twice daily from hens that roam in an enclosed yard next to the barn. The farm also collaborates with a neighboring farm to offer USDA-inspected pork, and they sell local goat cheese from Autumn Ridge Goat Farm.
The Rest
The self-serve farm store, located adjacent to the dairy barn, is open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. In addition to raw milk, eggs, and beef, the store offers local honey, maple syrup, homemade soaps and lotions, and a selection of cheeses from Cabot and McCadam. Payment options include cash, Cash App, PayPal, and Venmo. The farm also provides detailed product lists and prices for beef and pork, and offers bulk purchasing options.
