About the Farm
Background
The first established CSA in the Poweshiek County/Grinnell area, serving the local community with fresh produce, eggs, and poultry products. In 2015, they expanded their offerings to include pork products from Guinea Hogs.
Practices
The farm operates a buffet-style CSA where shareholders pick up their produce from May to December. Pasture-raised broilers and turkeys are available, along with eggs from heritage breed layers. Guinea Hogs, a heritage breed of pork, are raised on fresh forage, garden produce, and local grains, resulting in darker, more marbled, and better-tasting meat.
