About the Farm

Background

Operating since 2008, this CSA program has been fostering a local food system with the support of coastal and mainland communities in the Outer Banks. The farms are located in Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck, Knotts Island, Dare, and Hyde counties.

Practices

Participating farms practice sound land stewardship techniques, avoiding the use of GMO products and chemically intensive agriculture. They support family-owned and operated farms, assist new farm operations, and ensure all products are sourced from North Carolina.

The Rest

The program offers U-pick opportunities, educational clinics, and food preservation education. They are building two new market farms in Currituck and Hyde counties and depend on local consumer support through membership and markets. NC farm fresh meats and dairy are available on a two-week service cycle, which can be added to weekly shares.
