About the Farm
Background
Named in honor of Cherokee and Creek heritage, the farm was developed with a focus on wide row, raised bed, organic methods. Initially producing a variety of crops, it now specializes in growing heirloom vegetable and herb bedding plants exclusively for Tallahassee Nurseries.
Practices
The farm employs sustainable agriculture practices, avoiding mechanical tools and preparing beds by hand with a broadfork. No synthetic fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides are used, adhering to the principle of feeding the soil to nourish the plants. All vegetables and herbs grown are heirlooms.
The Rest
An eight-foot fence surrounds the farm area, allowing for harmonious coexistence with local wildlife. The farm operates year-round, cultivating a diverse array of crops.
