About the Farm
Background
Since 1989, the farm has been dedicated to raising and caring for sheep, specifically the St. Augustine hair sheep, a breed developed by Ron Taber. Known for their mild flavor, these sheep have been selected for their suitability to the southeastern climate and their desirable traits such as parasite resistance, twinning, and good temperament.
Practices
The sheep are raised on pasture and supplemented with grain, with antibiotics used sparingly to ensure the health of the flock. Emphasis is placed on providing a stress-free environment for the animals.
The Rest
Visitors are welcome for farm tours, offering a chance to see the sheep and learn about their care. The farm is located in Williston, Florida, and is managed by Adrian Avila. The farm also embraces a spiritual ethos, as reflected in their chosen scripture, Psalm 95:7.
