About the Farm

Background

The family has been farming in the Lodi-Delta region of California for over 75 years across four generations. Initially focusing on various row crops, alfalfa hay, and beef cattle, the idea to farm olives emerged from a CalPoly senior project. This project quickly pivoted from vineyard design to olive groves upon discovering the suitability of Lodi's fertile soils for olive cultivation. The farm has since become one of the most decorated olive oil producers in the U.S., winning 103 medals in the past three years.

Practices

The farm employs sustainable and organic farming techniques, avoiding pesticides and focusing on soil health. Processing water is recycled, and irrigation is efficiently managed through drip hoses. Tree trimmings are mulched and reintegrated into the soil, while leftover olive pits and solids are used as nutrient-rich feed for local dairy cows. The farm's extra virgin olive oils are Seal-Certified by the California Olive Oil Council, ensuring high quality and mechanical extraction without chemicals or excessive heat.

The Rest

The farm offers a variety of products, including flavored olive oils made by crushing olives with fresh produce and herbs, resulting in naturally flavored oils without additives or preservatives. They also provide gift sets and an olive oil club with three shipments per year. Visitors can explore their winery and olive mill, and the farm hosts private events and upcoming public events. More information, including recipes and purchasing options, is available on their website.
