About the Farm

Background

C&M McGinnis Grass-Fed Beef has established itself as a trusted source of high-quality beef, known for its commitment to transparency, sustainability, and core values rooted in authenticity and care for the land and animals. The farm, located 55 miles south of Kansas City, raises calves from birth to processing, ensuring complete control over the quality and health of the herd.

Practices

The farm employs a rotational grazing system, moving calves every 1–2 days during the grass-growing season to ensure they graze on fresh-growing grass. The cattle are supplemented with alfalfa hay and annual crops like oats, rye, and clover. The farm emphasizes low-stress handling of the calves to enhance meat tenderness and overall animal well-being. No hormones, antibiotics, or wormers are used.

The Rest

Visitors are welcome to tour the farm and select their own calf. The farm offers freezer meat for sale at wholesale prices and provides delivery to Kansas City on the 21st of each month. All beef is USDA inspected and approved, available in bulk or specific cuts. The farm's online portal allows for convenient ordering, though personal visits are encouraged to see the operation firsthand.
