About the Farm

Background

Bunny Hill Farms is a small, family-owned and operated farm known for its dedication to raising heritage breeds of geese, rabbits, and other livestock. The farm has gained recognition for its high-quality stock, suitable for showing, breeding, or meat production. These heritage breeds are profiled on Slow Foods USA, highlighting their significance and rarity.

Practices

The farm raises its animals on pasture, ensuring they have access to fresh air and natural foraging opportunities. The untreated lumber is sawed on-site using an LT70 Woodmizer sawmill and dried naturally in the Wisconsin air, avoiding harmful chemicals to maintain an environmentally friendly and non-toxic product. This approach supports organic gardening and farming practices.

The Rest

In addition to livestock, the farm offers Ancona ducks seasonally, East Friesian/Lacaune dairy sheep, Corriedale/Dorset sheep for fiber, Jersey Dairy individuals, and quality Border Collie livestock dogs. Custom-sawed lumber is available year-round, and the farm can accommodate specific project needs using either their wood or customer-supplied wood. Limited amounts of sawdust are also occasionally available.
