Bull Run Mountain Farm

Leigh Hauter, a former high school teacher, has been CSA farming for over twenty years and established the first farmer-owned CSA in the DC area. Over the past two decades, the farm has focused on building up the quality of its soil and has maintained a proven record of success despite the challenges faced by many other CSAs.

The farm utilizes two continuously flowing artesian springs, providing a reliable water source that ensures the vegetables receive pure, cool spring water. This consistent water supply, combined with Leigh's extensive experience, contributes to the farm's ability to produce high-quality vegetables. The farm's entire harvest is dedicated to its shareholders, ensuring they receive the best produce grown.

Unlike many modern CSAs that operate as box programs and sell their produce through various channels, this farm remains committed to providing its members with everything it grows, without diverting any produce to markets or other sales avenues.
