About the Farm
Background
In 1988, the current manager began working part-time during the summer, selling strawberries from a converted box truck. Over the years, they took on various roles, from animal care to field cultivation and produce delivery. By 1995, they became the Assistant Manager, eventually stepping up as the Manager of Farm Operations in 2014. The farm is known for its personal connections with regular customers and the unique experiences it offers. The manager, with a background in education, focuses on running the farm store and creating a family-friendly atmosphere.
Practices
The farm emphasizes a team approach to operations, with responsibilities ranging from wholesale operations and crop production to customer service and event planning. The physically demanding work is balanced by the fulfillment of growing, harvesting, and sharing fresh produce with the community. The farm also supports local food banks with fresh produce.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including walking trails, cross-country skiing, hayrides, and seasonal events like the Harvest Festival. The farm offers a wide range of products such as apples, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, watermelon, zucchini, summer squash, winter squash, cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, green beans, eggplant, sweet peppers, and hot peppers. The farm store, social media interactions, and birthday party bookings add to the community-centric experience.
