About the Farm

Background

Four generations of the Braswell family have led the business since 1943, starting with the purchase of Boddie Milling Co. Over the decades, the company evolved from producing corn meal to becoming a major player in the egg and feed industry. Key milestones include the establishment of Braswell Milling Co. in the 1950s, diversification into egg production in the 1960s, and becoming a founding member of Eggland’s Best Eggs in 1989. The company rebranded as Braswell Family Farms in 2017 and continues to be a leading producer of specialty eggs and organic feed.

Practices

Braswell Family Farms adheres to the American Humane Certified standards, ensuring the humane care of their animals. They have also received ISO 14001 Certification, highlighting their commitment to environmental stewardship. The farm operates one of the largest conventional and organic feed mills on the East Coast, producing high-nutrient feed customized for their birds and customers.

The Rest

Braswell Family Farms is the second largest Eggland's Best and Land O’ Lakes franchisee in the United States. They produce and market shelled eggs to both retailers and food service providers. The farm emphasizes building eternal relationships for God’s glory and values the dedication of their employees, vendors, suppliers, customers, and contract growers.
