About the Farm
Background
Established in 1998, this small family farm has been cultivating Meyer lemons and kiwi fruit on the Central Coast. About five years ago, the farm expanded its Meyer lemon production to five acres. USDA certified organic by CCOF since 2004, the farm also holds organic certification for international shipping.
Practices
The farm employs sustainable farming practices such as hand weeding, nitrogen-producing cover crops, drip irrigation, mulching, and the use of beneficial insects for pest control. Organic manure is used for fertilization, and no waxes, sprays, or chemicals are applied to the fruit.
The Rest
Meyer lemons from this farm are known for being sweeter and juicier due to their cross between lemon and Mandarin or sweet orange, making them a favorite among gourmet chefs. Kiwi fruit, available from November to February, is celebrated for its tangy sweetness and health benefits. The farm's products are available year-round for small orders, with main seasons for lemons from December to May.
