About the Farm

Background

The business began in 2011, evolving from a stocker operation and small commercial cow herd to include Hereford pigs, pastured eggs and chickens, hair sheep, stocker cattle, registered Murray Grey, Red Angus, and commercial cattle. Both founders grew up on farms, with Betsy on a working dairy and crop farm, and Adam on a smaller hobby farm, instilling in them a deep appreciation for hard work and respect for animals and land.

Practices

Utilizing rotational high stock density grazing, complementary grazing of several livestock species, and practicing no-till and rotational cropping, the operation aims to enhance land productivity while adhering to natural and ecological processes. The focus is on raising animals on pasture with minimal outside inputs, relying on the animals' natural abilities to be low maintenance and fertile.

The Rest

Located between Lake Geneva and Elkhorn in southeast Wisconsin, the farm comprises both owned and rented land, with a commitment to land stewardship to preserve it for future generations.
