About the Farm
Background
Established in 1976 when Paul and Yael purchased a small parcel of land in Dry Creek Valley, the farm has grown into a larger operation that includes vineyards and perennial row crops. For over 40 years, they have been known for their diversified farming operation and commitment to soil health.
Practices
The farm employs practices that prioritize soil health, including the use of a seed drill to grow cover crops that are turned under in the spring, benefiting the soil, preventing erosion, and creating good habitat for soil organisms. Twenty years ago, Paul built a compost turner to create compost from local materials such as grape pomace, continually improving soil fertility.
The Rest
Known for 14 varieties of hardneck and softneck garlic, they offer organic seed for sale online. Their produce is available at local restaurants and can be purchased for home use at the Healdsburg and Santa Rosa markets.
