About the Farm
Background
Located just outside of Eugene, Oregon near Fern Ridge Reservoir, this one-acre farm is operated by a husband and wife team, John and Emily. They are committed to growing as much of their own GMO-free, organic food as possible. Known for their heirloom tomatoes and basil, they also offer a wide variety of potted perennial plants, bulbs, tubers, and rhizomes. The farm stand operates from mid-April through late September on weekends, with flexible CSA boxes available from June through November. They participate in the Veneta Downtown Farmer’s Market and offer a selection of GMO-free, open-pollinated seeds for sale.
Practices
The farm employs strictly organic practices, although they are not certified. They focus on growing a wide range of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, and raise Alpine dairy goats, pigs, chickens, and honey bees. Their commitment to organic farming extends to their plant starts, produce, and livestock, ensuring that everything they offer is free from GMOs and synthetic chemicals.
The Rest
Visitors are welcome to stop by the farm on weekends or by appointment to see where their food comes from. The farm's produce and products can also be found at eugenelocalfoods.com and Veneta's Downtown Farmers Market. They accept both retail and wholesale orders and have a network of local, organic growers to help meet customer needs.
