About the Farm
Background
In the early 1950s, Arthur Bedner and his new bride Henrietta relocated to South Florida from Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to pursue a new life in the farming industry. Bedner farm was established in 1960 in Palm Beach County, where it continues to thrive today, yielding vast crops of cucumbers and peppers primarily sold and distributed along the east coast of the United States. Art Bedner's passion for farming was instilled in his children, and today, his three sons, Charles, Bruce, and Steve, along with his grandson Jesse, continue to carry on his legacy. The Bedners expanded their operations to bring their fresh harvested fruits and vegetables to the public, driven by the high demand for their produce.
Practices
Sustainable agriculture is at the heart of their farming practices, focusing on producing food that is healthy to eat, environmentally friendly, humane for workers, respectful of animals, and supportive of the local community. This approach emphasizes understanding the issues, getting involved with food production, and knowing the people who grow and sell the produce.
The Rest
The farm market offers a variety of products including strawberries, flowers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Visitors can enjoy a U-pick experience, although availability varies by season. The Bedners take pride in their spring garden, known for producing some of the sweetest corn, and they offer tractor rides on weekends.
