About the Farm
Background
The farm has been family-owned since 1886, with the current fifth and sixth generations actively farming the property. Originally a dairy farm, it transitioned to raising beef and bison in 1995. The farm has a long-standing commitment to producing meat free of herbicides and chemical pesticides since 1993.
Practices
The farm raises 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef and bison, heritage Tamworth pork, roasting chickens, and eggs. All animals are raised without synthetic hormones, on GMO-free feed, and without routine antibiotics. Natural breeding and birthing methods are employed, and animals are not dehorned. The farm emphasizes the importance of healthy animals and a chemical-free diet.
The Rest
Meat is sold directly from the on-farm store, with cuts individually wrapped and frozen. Sides and split sides are available by advance order, often with a wait list. The farm operates under the motto 'from our farm, to your family....naturally' and encourages visitors to ask questions. Retail hours are Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the farm is often open when the family is home. Note that the farm does not accept credit cards.
