About the Farm
Background
Located in the heart of the Schoharie Valley, the Barber family has been respectfully tending their land for five generations. Their experience has cultivated a reputation for producing homegrown vegetables with incredible flavor, drawing customers from Lake Placid, New York City, Connecticut, and New Jersey.
Practices
Learning from experience, the farm focuses on building and maintaining natural systems within the soil. This approach enhances the flavor of their vegetables and supports the health of their 500-acre farm. The dairy operation includes milking 100 cows twice a day, and the farm also features greenhouses that provide lush hanging baskets and vigorous flowering and vegetable plants starting in May.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy seeing the calves and stepping inside the barn during milking times. The farm offers a memorable experience with friendly staff and a wide variety of hand-harvested vegetables fresh from the fields.
