About the Farm
Background
In 1945, about ten years after emigrating from Italy, Luigi Bacchini began farming in Knightsen. While Luigi started the business, it was his son, Tino Bacchini, who truly expanded the farm's operations. Tino and his wife Josie were pioneers in Brentwood, being among the first to offer U-Pick services. Today, the farm spans 14 acres and is managed by third and fourth-generation family members, maintaining its strong family roots.
Practices
The farm focuses on providing a hands-on experience for visitors through its U-Pick orchard, allowing customers to pick their own fresh fruits directly from the trees. This method not only ensures the freshest produce but also connects people to the source of their food. The Bacchini family takes pride in their meticulous care of the orchard, ensuring that each fruit is grown to the highest standards of quality.
The Rest
The farm is open to visitors during May and June, offering a variety of fruits including apricots, cherries, and nectarines. Entry tickets are required for U-Pick, and reservations are encouraged to guarantee entry. The farm also features a sunflower patch and provides real-time updates on their social media pages.
