About the Farm
Background
Located 45 minutes south of Minneapolis in the Northfield area, the farm has become known for its commitment to providing high-quality chicken, pork, and eggs. They participate in two farmers markets in Minneapolis: Fulton every week and Midtown every other week.
Practices
All chickens are fed organic feed and have access to plenty of greens while roaming outside. The laying hens are certified Animal Welfare Approved, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. Hogs are fed a diet of grass, hay, veggie scraps, and transitional organic grain. The farm offers two breeds of chicken: a standard meat breed and the Freedom Ranger, known for its firmer texture and more flavorful meat.
The Rest
Customers can receive a 10 percent discount on whole chickens when visiting the farm directly. It is recommended to check in before visiting. The farm maintains an active presence on Facebook under the name Auntie Annie's Fields.
