About the Farm
Background
The legacy began in 1890 when August Kaspar, a Texas native and son of a Swiss missionary, moved to Gonzales County and started a business making wire baskets. This entrepreneurial spirit has been passed down for five generations. Today, Dennis Kaspar and his son Dennis Chase Kaspar continue the tradition, focusing on agriculture and ranching since 1985.
Practices
Animals are raised from start to finish on the ranch, ensuring they have grass under their feet every day. They never receive antibiotics or hormones. The ranch emphasizes a 'cradle to grave' approach, managing everything from genetics to the final product, ensuring a healthier and more nutritious meat.
The Rest
The ranch prides itself on creating direct relationships with customers, offering a personal touch that extends beyond a label. The team includes Dennis and Cordelia Kaspar, their son Dennis Chase Kaspar, and Kent Schoberle, a former animation professional turned butcher who joined in 2016.
