About the Farm
Background
Armstrong Artisan Farm began in 2009 with the marriage of Austin and Jessica, who initially focused on raising lambs. Over time, they diversified their operations and implemented strict management practices to ensure the highest quality meats. Austin, a graduate of North Carolina State University with degrees in Agriculture Business Management and Animal Science, and Jessica, a Wake Forest University graduate with a major in English and a minor in Anthropology, have expanded their family and their farm, now producing top-quality artisan pasture-raised pork, lamb, fresh eggs, and beef.
Practices
All products are raised on the farm with a commitment to humane, natural, and healthy methods. The farm emphasizes hands-on care, from gathering eggs and rotating pastures to monitoring newborn lambs and observing the flocks. Visitors are encouraged to learn about these practices firsthand through tours and participation in farm chores.
The Rest
The farm hosts a variety of seasonal events, including a Corn Maze & Fall Festival, a Pumpkin Patch & Sunflowers event, and a Christmas Light Spectacular. They welcome groups and field trips, offering activities such as hayrides, horse-drawn wagon rides, petting zoos, and more. The farm also provides special pricing for photographers during the sunflower and wildflower bloom season.
