About the Farm
Background
Located just south of Clinton, Indiana, this farm has a rich history dating back nearly a century. Originally home to a German family who farmed with horses and sold butter to neighbors, it has evolved into a community hub for education and connection to nature. The current stewards have backgrounds in equine studies, military service, and agricultural management, bringing a wealth of experience to the farm's operations.
Practices
The farm operates on sustainable practices aimed at protecting and improving the health of the Earth and its inhabitants. They manage a diverse array of livestock including alpacas, llamas, mini donkeys, mini horses, dairy goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and a pot-bellied pig. The farm also features a top bar bee hive and composting systems.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of programs including summer camps, veterans programs, animal-assisted therapy, internships, workshops, retreats, outdoor learning programs, and an event venue. They also have a farm store featuring local artisans and produce. The farm is equipped with a barn, good fencing, and a tractor, but they are seeking support to build additional facilities such as a classroom/farm store, bunkhouse, high tunnel, and animal shelters.
