About the Farm
Background
Eight years ago, the farm began its journey into homesteading. Michael, now 15, and Annabelle, 13, have taken on the responsibility of caring for a diverse barnyard. The farm has become known for its heritage breeds of chickens, ducks, and geese, and has earned the Kentucky Proud designation along with an Egg Handlers license.
Practices
The farm employs all-natural husbandry methods, ensuring that their fowl are free-ranged and pastured during the day while being cooped at night. They feed their livestock certified organic grains and strictly avoid GMOs and dangerous treatments. The emphasis is on providing clean, wholesome food for both the animals and their customers.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of eggs for sale, including chicken, duck, and goose eggs, as well as hatching eggs. They also provide farm-fresh Jersey milk through cow herd shares. Visitors can purchase products directly on the farm or through local stores and CSA programs. The farm is part of the Local Hens network, which connects consumers with local farmers.
