About the Farm
Background
Located just under 5 miles from Downtown Tipp City, OH, this family-owned farm has carved out a niche in the local community with its seasonal honey and free-range eggs. The farm also produces alfalfa/clover/grass hay from a 7-acre field, contributing to its diverse agricultural offerings.
Practices
The farm adheres to natural farming practices, allowing chickens free access to the outdoors where they can forage on grass, yard clippings, and table scraps, supplemented with a commercial layer ration for balanced nutrition. Antibiotics are avoided unless absolutely necessary, and thus far, have not been needed. The beekeeping practices focus on raising locally adapted survivor stock with minimal human intervention, avoiding chemical treatments that can be absorbed by the wax. The bees are provided with ample forage and a good home, resulting in high-quality honey production.
The Rest
The farm's dedication to natural practices extends to their passion for beekeeping, where they allow bees to thrive as nature intended, ensuring a chemical-free environment for honey production.
